Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis prides itself on being a community resource for youth philanthropy and civic engagement. We are also a resource for students who are seeking internships to gain experience in nonprofit administrative work and working directly with Club members through developing, planning and implementing youth programs. We offer a variety of internships for those interested in helping advance our mission:
Interested internship applicants should send a cover letter indicating why they are interested in completing their internship with the Boys & Girls Clubs, their past experience working with youth, particularly at-risk youth, and how their education and experiences have prepared them for this type of internship. Please also include a resume and three professional references. All internships with Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis are uncompensated and may require some evening and weekend hours. All interns must be able to pass an extensive background check in order to work with the youth.
For more information or to submit an application to join Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis for the upcoming internship cycle, please email volunteer [at] bgcm [dot] org.
The Career Exploration Program is an internship uniquely funded by The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Grant, to provide career advancement opportunities for students ages 16-24. The program's goal is to recruit youth in underprivileged Memphis in hopes of decreasing re-occurring youth unemployment rates by exposing youth to hands-on professional experience and providing additional post-secondary opportunities.
