Vinson Smith, Club Director - vsmith@bgcm.org

Vinson Smith is a native of Tennessee. He graduated from Tennessee Technological University in 1974. He served in the U.S. Naval Forces for many years earning the rank of Rear Admiral. He retired from active duty military service December 1, 2005.

Admiral Smith's awards include Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit with a gold star, Bronze star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with two gold stars, navy Commendation Medal, The Republic of Argentina, Distinguished Service Navy Cross and numerous service ribbons. In 2009, he was presented by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation the President's Bronze Volunteer Service Award.

Admiral Smith and his wife, Sandy, currently reside in Olive Branch, MS. His hobbies include golfing and gardening.

Paula Guyton, Sr. Program Director - paulag@bgcm.org

Paula Guyton was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She attended LeMoyne-Owen College. Paula is an outgoing, dedicated, hardworking young lady who loves working with youth of all ages. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She has been a staff member of the BGC since 2001, starting at Goodwill branch. In 2003, she transferred to the Southside branch, and finally to Downtown Porter in 2009. Some of her achievements include Youth Development Professional, Professional Staff of the Year, Staff of the Year at Goodwill BGC, Going the Extra Mile Nominee and Winner, Interim Club Director for the former Southside Boys & Girls Club. She has one daughter and is currently working on receiving her Master's in Secondary Education.
