Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis
Invite Alumni to Come On
Home
Bill Cosby…Danny Glover…Jennifer Lopez…Edward James
Olmos…Denzel Washington…Steve Young…Magic Johnson…Shaquille
O'Neal...Muhammad Ali…Jackie Joyner-Kersee…Dan Rather.
What do
all of these people, and several million more throughout America,
have in common? They are all alumni of the Boys & Girls
Clubs of America.
While many Club alumni have achieved particular distinction in fields
such as entertainment, politics and sports, most are not famous. The
majority are average people who have achieved success by doing things
like getting a degree, raising a family, serving their country, pursuing
a career or supporting the community.
Which
brings us to the Boys & Girls
Clubs of Greater Memphis' board members. While not famous they are
no less successful than the
celebrities named above. And like them, they credit much of their success
as an adult to the early years spent at the Boys & Girls Clubs
they attended.
It seems whenever you talk to former members, you hear the same thoughts
and reflections about the experience repeated again and again. Somehow
there was something special, almost magical about those years. The
Club was a unique place that, in the minds of many alumni, has come
to represent all that was good about childhood and growing up.
So the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis is inviting alumni
of any Boys Clubs or Boys & Girls Clubs who now reside in the Memphis
to Come On Home. We welcome you to come and visit any of the branches
in the Memphis area and share your stories and memories.
We also invite you to become a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs
of Greater Memphis Alumni Association. We need you to help us fulfill
the mission of service to today's youth. There are many opportunities
for you to consider such as tutoring, coaching, serving on the board,
contributing financially or assisting our committees, which help with
many different functions of the Club's operation.
We look forward to seeing you soon and creating new memories for you
and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis.
