MyBGCM50 - Joe Carney's Grand Canyon Challenge

Through the MyBGCM50 movement, we are challenging our supporters to do something extraordinary for BGCM's 50th anniversary. Joe Carney is answering this challenge by attempting a double crossing of the Grand Canyon, also known as running rim to rim to rim. Joe Carney Along with 12 other runners of varying experience, Joe will run approximately 48 miles consisting of around 11,000 feet of elevation changes and the temperature will range from the mid-30's in the morning to the mid-80's when crossing the canyon later in the day.

Joe believes that such a daunting task should be coupled with great motivation, so he chose to dedicate his support to the BGCM. He hopes to raise $100 for every mile for a total of almost $5,000 which would sponsor 10 kids' memberships to the BGCM for a year. Your pledge of $1 per mile would sponsor a member to the Club for a month! Knowing that his venture will open doors for Memphis youth motivates Joe's BGCM50!

Cheer Joe on by sponsoring a child or making a one-time pledge:
