Steak n’ Burger Dinner
Some people were skeptical when J. W. “Bill” Brakebill of Memphis proposed a fundraising event where adults paid to eat hamburgers while dining with Boys & Girls Club members who eat steaks!
That first dinner in 1972 helped balance the budget and kept the Clubs operating. This original idea caught on in a big way and now Steak n’ Burger Dinners are held by Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide.
Over the years, our Club kids have enjoyed great steaks. Between bites, they have told us about the good, clean fun they have had at their Clubs. Those who have attended Steak n’ Burger Dinners have literally watched these young people become productive, responsible and caring citizens in their community.
Generous supporters like you recognize that the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis is an investment in our future by purchasing burgers...tens of thousands of them. Over the past 38 years this event has raised more than $6.1 million, supporting over 5,000 youth annually in the Memphis community.
On March 11, 2010, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis celebrated its 39th Annual Steak n’ Burger Dinner. Our Keynote Speaker was a Boys & Girls Club Alumnus and the runner-up NBA Rookie of the Year, O.J. Mayo of the Memphis Grizzlies.

12th Annual Tennis Invitational
In 1998, a group of advocate tennis players decided to gather their friends and raise money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis with an amateur tennis tournament. In their first year they raised little over $5,000. In 2009, the same group raised over $120,000. As the 12th Annual of the Tennis Invitational approaches, the goal is to raise $150,000 to surpass the $1 million mark. We hope that you will join us to be part of this monumental occasion!

6th Annual Toast for Toys Gala
The Toast for Toys Gala is a fundraiser to help raise money to throw festive and fun holiday parties at our Clubs. The ticket cost includes one toy donation, which goes to a youth at one of our six locations. Help us give our Club members the best holiday that they ever experienced.
